The 2006 Army Ten-Miler is registering people at record rates.
Registration for teams and individuals opened at 12:01 am on
April 3 with already over 4,000 registered as of press time
today. Over 9,000 visits were made to the website
www.armytenmiler.com yesterday alone. While this year boasts
an increase in the running field to 24,000, the race is still
expected to sell out in advance of last year's close of July 10.
Those interested should register early to ensure entry. The 22nd
running of the Army's annual race will take place on Sunday
October 8 at the Pentagon.
"The 2006 Army Ten-Miler is gearing up to be the strongest yet!
With a streamlined registration process for teams and
individuals and new activities such as the ATM training program,
the USCAA 10-Mile Championship and more, we hope to give runners
the best experience possible, both before the race and during
race weekend," commented Race Director, Jim Vandak.
The online registration page, hosted by Marathon Guide.com
easily guides the registrant through the process. For step-by-
step directions and detailed information, participants can visit
the new Team or Individual Registration pages. Team captains can
look forward to an updated Team Tools function that makes it
easier to register teams, manage team rosters, and make team
changes. About the Army Ten-Miler The 2006 Army Ten-Miler is expected to attract 24,000 military
and civilian runners from around the world to compete for top
