PR Course Awaits You at DARCARS Pike's Peek 10K
First Event in the 2006 Rockville Triple Race Series

We Are Running In Montgomery County!
The DARCARS Pike's Peek offers runners a couple good reasons
for running in Rockville. The route down Rockville Pike is
known as the "PR Course." The USATF certified course is
designed for speed and each year a high percentage of
participants run their fastest at this race--very enticing to
runners.Do you like running in Rockville? MCRRC is proud to announce a
new race series, "The 2006 Rockville Triple Race Series"
featuring the DARCARS Pike's Peek (4/23/06), the Rockville
Twilight Runfest 8K (7/15/06), and the Rockville 10K (10/1/06),
all held in the City of Rockville. Cash awards will be given to
the first place male and female ($250); second place male and
female ($100); first place masters male and female ($100), and
second place masters male and female ($50). To qualify for the
series, runners must compete in all three events to be scored.
To qualify for the masters award, you must be age 40 or older
as of 4/23/2006. Awards will be presented at the Rockville 10K. Do not delay in registering. Mail-in deadline for the DARCARS
Pike's Peek 10K is April 15, 2006. On-line registration is
available until 12 noon, Thursday, April 20, 2006, at:
www.mcrrc.org/pikespeek. Late registration
will take place at packet pickup at the DARCARS Volvo showroom,
15401 Frederick Road, Friday, April 21, noon to 8:00 pm., and
Saturday, April 22, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Chip distribution to
all runners will take place at the start line race day morning. The Montgomery County Road Runners Club (MCRRC) is proud to
present these events that consistently attract runners of all
ages and paces and we encourage you to join us. The DARCARS Pike's Peek is conducted by the Montgomery County
Road Runners Club, Inc. in partnership with Montgomery County
and the City of Rockville. Honorary Race Directors: Douglas
Duncan, Montgomery County Executive, and Larry Giammo,
Rockville Mayor. Event proceeds benefit the following local
charities and recreational programs: Scleroderma Foundation of
Greater Washington, DC; Parkinson Foundation of the National
Capital Area; and the Montgomery County and Rockville Youth
Recreation Funds.
