Angel Kisses Selects Capital Running Company to Officiate 5th Annual 5K Race
By Michael Rickard April 28, 2008 Chantilly, VA For the Washington Running Report
The Angel Kisses Executive Committee has selected Capital
Running Company to officiate the fifth annual 5K/2K race on May
11, 2008. This community event brings in approximately $20,000
per year for the Jeffrey Virostek Memorial Fund. In the past
few years, the Jeffrey Virostek Memorial Fund has donated to
organizations and charities who provide support services for
families fighting cancer such as "Life with Cancer" counseling
services, The Red Apple Clown Care Ministry, Colors of Love,
CaringBridge, Special Love, and Candlelighters.
"Angel Kisses has been attracting approximately 200 quality
runners each year since our inception," said Tasha Virostek,
Chairman of the Jeffrey Virostek Memorial Fund. "We decided
that our fifth year was a good time to upgrade our officiating
capabilities. We are looking forward to utilizing the latest
ChampionChip technology to make Angel Kisses even more
successful."
About Jeffrey Virostek: Jeffrey Douglas Virostek battled acute myelogenous leukemia at
the young age of 2. He demonstrated great faith and courage
during his struggle, but he succumbed to this blood cancer in
2003. His family was devastated, but benefited from a terrific
neighborhood support group as well as a handful of cancer-
related support groups. The Angel Kisses 5K has become an
annual celebration of Jeffrey's life.
