The Frederick Steeplechasers Women's Distance Festival, scheduled for September 20, 2003 at Baker Park, has been cancelled. Nancy Twigg, the Race Director, said that the Frederick police department reluctantly cancelled her permit for the race due to a scheduling conflict with the Frederick Fair.

She had applied months ago for the permit, armory rental, etc. and was well into the preparations when she was notified. All entry fees will be refunded. Online entries will be cancelled.

Rescheduling at this time is not an option. This event needs to be run on a USATF-certified course and at this late date it would not be possible to get that done on a course outside of the city.

The club sincerely thanks all of the folks that have volunteered to help or secure prizes.
