Series promotes prostate cancer awareness; returns to the District on October 30
The 2004 PACE Race Series continued on Sunday in Seattle, WA and Sacramento, CA as a combined 500 participants ran and walked in the inaugural races.

"We're very happy with how both races went off," said Mandy Deas, National PACE Race Director. "We expect the numbers to double or triple for next year as both events begin to lay the groundwork for a beneficial future."

"The race was extremely successful from an operations standpoint as everything went off without a problem," said Brian Oster, Seattle PACE Race Director. "The entire staff is already looking to next year and is excited about the possibilities this race holds."

Top finishers in the Seattle PACE Race were Leif Kohler in 16:20 and Emily Showman in 18:54. For complete results of the 2004 Seattle PACE Race visit www.promotionevents.com.

"We had perfect running weather for the first time in a long time," said Doug Thurston, Sacramento PACE Race Director. "Everyone enjoyed themselves and left with a positive feeling on the event and the amount of money raised."

Rich Hanna won the Sacramento race in 15:53 and Jennifer Kent led the women in 19:09. For complete results of the 2004 Sacramento PACE Race visit www.rungoldmedal.com.

The PACE Race Series will complete three more races before the end of August with races taking place in St. Louis on August 22, New York City on August 28 and Denver on August 29. The series will come to Washington, DC on Saturday, October 30.

The PACE Race series kicked off June 20 in Pittsburgh, PA and ends November 20 in Tampa, FL and Atlanta, GA. The PACE Race Series is presented by Aventis and supported by the Prostate Cancer Education Council, PowerBar, Propel, Brooks, Madhava, and Kettle Chips.
