The 19th Annual Fair Lakes 8K to benefit the Inova Kellar Center is pleased to announce that it has expanded award categories to include five year age groups. Prizes will be given for the first three males and females in the following age groups: 12 and under, 13 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, and 70 & Up. Wheelchair competitors will receive $100, a trophy, and a merchandise prize for first, and $50 plus a merchandise prize for second. The first place girl and boy in the 8K will each receive a trophy and a merchandise prize. The top overall male and female winners will receive a trophy, $100 cash and a $50 gift certificate to Glory Days Grill. The top team will receive a trophy and $175 in Glory Days gift certificates. To view a detailed list of all prizes in the 8K and random door prize list, please visit the Fair Lakes 8K Web site at www.fairlakes8k.com All participants in the 2K Fun Run/Walk will receive a 2005 Participation Ribbon. This year's race scheduled for Sunday, September 11 at 8:30 am will also feature Champion Chip timing. Overall awards will be based upon clock time and age group awards will be based upon Chip times. The entry fee is $20 by September 1, and $25 after September 1. Children 12 and under: $10.00. Champion Chip owners may deduct $2.00 from the registration fee. Packet pickup is Saturday, September 10 from 10am to 3pm and Sunday, September 11 from 7am to 8am at the Fair Lakes One Building - 12500 Fair Lakes Circle, Fairfax, VA (Please note the new location from 2004.) Register on-line at www.active.com Coed Team Competition: Join together with your co-workers, family, friends, or running companions and enter as a team. Teams may comprise five to ten members with the fastest three and one of each gender scoring. Please send all team registration forms together. There is no team registration or substitutions on race day. A team trophy and prize will be awarded to the top team. The trophy will be perpetual and is passed along each year to the winning team. Directions: Fair Lakes is located at the intersection of I-66 and the Fairfax County Parkway - Exit 55B.
Take I-495 to I-66 West. Follow I-66W to Exit 55B - Fairfax County Parkway. Right at first light onto Fair Lakes Parkway. Right at next light onto Fair Lakes Circle. Follow signs.
Fair Lakes is also accessible from Route 50, West Ox Road, and Stringfellow Road.
