Jingle Bells

Solomons Island Hosts a Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk This Saturday

December 11 at the Calvert Marine Museum
from the Chesapeake Bay Running Club

The Jingle Bell 5K Run and Walk for Arthritis will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 11 at the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, MD. The mostly-flat course starts at the museum, tours scenic Solomons Island and returns to the museum. This event benefits the Arthritis Foundation.

In addition to the 5K run/walk, there will be a 50-yard Rudolph Romp for children aged 1-3 and 4-6 years, and a 100-yard dash for children 7-10 years old at 8 am. The first 175 paid entrants receive a long-sleeve T-shirt, jingle bells and a goodie bag. The overall male and female 5K winners as well as the top three male and female finishers in seven age group categories will receive awards. In addition, the top male, female and mixed teams (scored by top three finishers for each team) will win awards.

- Donations are $20 per person for groups of more than 10 (pre- registration only -- must pay for entire the entire group before race day).

- $22 per person for groups of 5-10 and Chesapeake Bay Running Club members (pre-registration only -- must pay for the entire group before race day.

- There is a $3 donation per entry for Rudolph Romp t-shirts (2 shirt maximum per family). The Rudolph Romp is free if no shirt is requested.

- There is a minimum $25 donation to participate on race day.

- Race day registration begins at 6:30 am.

- Warm up exercises will begin at 7:40 am.
