Pacers celebrates the grand opening of its second Virginia
location.Pacers, a Washington metro running and walking specialty store,
is a family-owned and operated business specializing in
personalized shoe fittings, gait analysis, and race training.
The new Pacers store is located at 3100 Clarendon Boulevard in
Arlington.
To help celebrate Pacers' grand opening, Wardian, who qualified
for the Olympic Trials earlier this year, will attempt to break
the record set by Josh Cox in April. The record is certified
with "The Book of Alternative Records." Wardian, who has run
more than 40 marathons, is a member of the Pacers running team,
which is sponsored by New Balance.
To reinforce Pacers' commitment to the greater Washington
community, the store has agreed to donate five dollars to Toys
for Tots for every minute his time falls under the current
record.
"We're excited to host this event and give Michael the
opportunity to break the record and make running history, and we
look forward to making a contribution to a worthy cause during
this holiday season," said Chris Farley, owner and manager of
Pacers. Pacers will also provide a collection box for customer
contributions to Toys for Tots.
The grand opening will also feature a stretch clinic and
videotaped gait analysis by Body Dynamics, Inc., a raffle, and
special opening-day pricing.
