The 2008 Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K will take place on Saturday, April 5.

Jump Start! presented by Anthem, a corporate wellness initiative from the Sports Backers, has been launched to help Richmond region employers encourage a healthier and happier workforce by making the 2008 Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K a focal point of their employee health and wellness initiative.

With 30,000 people set to register for the 2008 Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K, most employers in the area will have one or more employees participating in the event. Jump Start! recommends companies use the 10K in one of the following ways:

1. Pay For Employees To Participate
   Using the event's Bulk Registration feature, companies have an easy way to pay for groups of employees to participate in the 10K.


2. Encourage Employees To Get Active
   The Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K has once again partnered with the Richmond area YMCAs to organize the 10-week YMCA 10K Training Team for runners and walkers that begins on January 26, 2008. Since its inception in 2002, more than 15,000 local residents have found motivation through the program to get up and get active.


3. Support A Good Cause And Put Cancer on the Run: Join the Massey Fundraising Challenge!
   The VCU Massey Cancer Center is the official non-profit fundraising partner of the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K. Through your participation in the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K and the Massey Fundraising Challenge employees can help raise critical funds to advance the fight against cancer.


4. Promote Team Building
   Whether dressing up in costume or wearing a company shirt, the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K is a fun event to do together! Live bands, cheering groups, fun-filled spectator party stops, and a one-of-a-kind post-race festival combine to turn America's most beautiful residential street into the country's most fun 10K course!
