ALEXANDRIA ROAD RACE SET FOR OCTOBER 15, 2005

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia - Organizers of the Kingstowne Faith 5K Run/Walk have set the running of the fourth annual event for Saturday, October 15, 2005, 8:30 a.m. in Alexandria, Virginia. Presenting Sponsor of the event for the fourth consecutive year is INOVA HealthPlex Franconia-Springfield. The Run/Walk is organized by Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Alexandria.

Runners and walkers of all abilities are encouraged to enter. The five kilometer (3.1 miles) course will begin and end at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 5725 Castlewellan Drive, in Alexandria and will run through the streets and greenbelts of Kingstowne. Kingstowne is a 5400 residence planned community in Alexandria consistently rated as one of the DC Metro Area's most desirable places to live.

All proceeds from the Kingstowne Faith 5K Run/Walk benefit The Koinonia Foundation, a not-for-profit agency dedicated to helping the needy in the Franconia, Kingstowne, East Springfield, and Newington areas of Fairfax County. Since 2002, the Run/Walk has raised over $24,000 for The Koinonia Foundation.

The third annual Run/Walk on October 16, 2004 attracted nearly 500 entrants. Winners were Eric Kweder of Woodbridge, Virginia (16:10) and Samia Akbar of Herndon, Virginia (17:08).
