Fitting Right In
New Balance Concept Stores Opens Third Store in the Area
By Kina Thornton February 28, 2006 Washington, DC For the Washington Running Report
John Strojny (pronounced Stro-nee), the local owner of the New
Balance Concept Stores located in Delaware and Washington, DC,
is opening a third DC market location due to the overwhelming
success of his first Washington, DC store. While the store helps
people find the right fit for their feet, it also represents the
best of what small business has to offer the local community."People know how passionate I am about providing the best
customer service and fit, but I am just as passionate about
providing opportunities for young entrepreneurs to grow with the
local community," says Strojny, "I started as a young
entrepreneur just after college, so I understand how difficult
it can be to find your niche in the business world." "I think young people want to develop, but like any journey, the
first steps can be challenging," says Strojny, an avid runner
and longtime resident of Delaware. "Because of this, I created a
business model for young entrepreneurs." In his model, the new
store manager will also share ownership responsibilities, a role
that will foster the entrepreneurial spirit and develop the
individual, both personally and professionally. His passion is tangible. "I am excited to be involved in the
opening of our newest New Balance Concept Store here in the
heart of the nation's capital; the store will be another great
way for people to experience the New Balance brand of footwear
and apparel," said Tito Bhuiyan, managing partner of the new
store. The former manager of the New Balance store in Tysons
Corner, Bhuiyan is ecstatic about his new "home store." "John
has given me the opportunity to grow, to be a managing partner,
and to grow with a successful business." Opportunities to grow are good for any business, and with three
stores in the DC market that focus on customer service, product
knowledge, and a superior product, the possibilities are
endless. Located at 1020 Connecticut Ave, NW, Washington, DC,
the New Balance store will offer a complete line of New Balance
performance footwear specifically designed for athletic
activities such as running, walking, tennis, training,
basketball, and golf. Men's, women's, and kids' styles will be
available in widths ranging from 2A to 6E. The store will also
feature special events, such as free gait analysis or foot
evaluations by licensed medical professionals. The grand opening
events for the new store will be held on March 4, 2006 where you
can enjoy music, refreshments, and the entire New Balance
experience.
