American Stroke Association and MIX 107.3 (radio station WRQX)
invite all Washington area runners and rookies to come out and
hang with afternoon host, Carson, for fun, music, food and
prizes Thursday, January 20th at RiRa Irish Pub and Restaurant,
4931 Elm Street in Bethesda,
from 7-8:30pm.
Find out how you can train to run or walk a marathon, including
all expenses paid, to either Kona, HI or San Diego, CA, while
fundraising to fight stroke.
Guests will have an opportunity to learn about Train to End
Stroke, a four to five month conditioning program that will
prepare participants to run or walk either the half or full
Rock-n-Roll Marathon (San Diego, CA) or the Kona Marathon
(Hawaii), both in June of 2005. Participants train in a fun,
team atmosphere while raising funds for stroke research and
education.
For those who reach the training and fund-raising goals, the
American Stroke Association will provide airfare, hotel
accommodations, ground transportation and marathon entry fee to
the either marathon.
"Train to End Stroke is a great way to make a lifestyle change
for yourself while making a difference in the lives of stroke
survivors. We are very excited about our upcoming cycle and
the inspiring stories that will come out of it, " says Nakia
Harper, Train to End Stroke director.
