For the Washington Running Report

RRCA Ten Mile Race
The annual Maryland State Club Challenge 10 Mile will start at Howard County Community College in Columbia, MD at 8:00 am. It is the first race in the Maryland Grand Prix Series (see results for 2004), which comprises eight races held throughout the year.

Remember you need only race three of the series races to earn prize money. Make sure you note which club you are racing for.

Represent your RRCA running club in one of the most competitive and challenging races in Maryland. Team categories include Male, Female, and Combined. Team scoring is based on a minimum of the top twelve male runners and the top three female runners. To save your time and ours, on-line or mail-in pre-registration is encouraged and appreciated.

Time and Place: 8:00 am. Howard Community College (Physical Education Building), Columbia, MD. Entry Fee: $7 PAYABLE ON RACE DAY ONLY. Please do not send payment. Note: most clubs supplement entry fees for club members in whole or in part. During packet pick-up, see club list for your payment amount.

On-line Registration: On-line pre-registration is encouraged and greatly appreciated. Please visit Race Trak Online from 2/1/05 to 2/19/05 (noon). Contact your club president for team password.

Scoring: The top 12 men and top 3 women finishers constitute the minimum team size. Team size increases to the lowest number of all qualifying team finishers. For example, if all teams have at least 13 men, then 13 men would be scored for male teams. No runners finishing after two hours will be scored.

Race Day Registration & Packet Pick-up: At HCC Phys Ed Building, Sunday Feb 20 from 6:45 am to 7:45 am.

Amenities: Showers and locker room. Special premium to all finishers. Refreshments and snacks. Russell Antico, DC, will provide an information booth with free post-race massages provided by Pat Wilkerson, CMT and Lisa Carey, CMT.

Race Information: RRCA Challenge 10 Mile or contact: Howard County Striders. Race Director: (410) 730-1668 (h) or Richard Bernstein. Strider Hotline: (410) 964-1998.
