Fleet Feet Sports is now open and plans a formal grand opening for the month of March.

a specialty running and walking store serving Annapolis and the surrounding communities, has opened as of 13 January 2007 and is located only a short walk or run from historic downtown Annapolis. Fleet Feet carries running shoes, apparel, and related accessories, including brands such as Adidas, Asics, Brooks, Mizuno, New Balance, Nike, Saucony, Hind, Moving Comfort, and Sugoi. Fleet Feet's professional staff will work with customers one-on-one to assess their footwear and apparel needs and help them select the best equipment for their activities. Fleet Feet's custom shoe-fitting process involves analyzing a customer's foot using a custom FIT process. They also make sure the correct shoe is fitted by watching customer's run or walk in the correct shoe. Fleet Feet additionally offers a custom Bra FIT process for their female clientele to ensure the correct bra is in place for the activity that is being performed.

Fleet Feet will also serve as a gathering place for area runners and walkers. They will offer educational seminars, training advice, and race information. Training groups and fun runs will take advantage of nearby Quiet Waters Park and the Naval Academy and people of all ages and abilities are invited. Fleet Feet has already shown its community spirit by participating in and sponsoring a number of local events.

Store owners Scott and Marty Broerman bring their own running and fitness experience to the community. They are local people with local ties. Marty, born and raised in Annapolis is a 1991 Naval Academy Graduate. Scott is a United States Navy retiree. Marty has an extensive running background and was a qualifier and participant in the 2000 Olympic trials in Sacramento, CA. They have wanted and pursued a Fleet Feet franchise since 1999 and now are realizing their dream of having a retail business that can also contribute and give back to the community. "We are excited and fortunate to have such an opportunity," says Scott. "The best times in my life were spent here and I call this home. Running is what we do, so when we decided to open our own store, there was no question that it would be Fleet Feet. Their customer service model and FIT processes are without question leading the industry."
