Ishibe and Cook Back to Defend
The hottest event happening this weekend is the "18th Annual Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest 8K and 1K Fun Run." Held at Rockville Town Center, North Washington Street and Middle Lane, the Festival begins at 7 pm; the 8K Wheelchair race begins at 8:40 pm; the 8K race begins at 8:45 pm; and the Fun Run begins at 8:50 pm.

Ben Cook of Silver Spring, Maryland, will be back to defend his title. Naoko Ishibe, also of Silver Spring, hopes to walk away with a win after finishing in second place for the past three years.

Late registration will be held on Friday, July 18, from 6 to 9 pm and Saturday, July 19, from Noon to 4 pm at RNJ Sports, 11910- R Parklawn Drive, Rockville. On Saturday night, registration and packet pick-up will be available from 6 to 8 pm at the Town Center.

Race proceeds benefit the Rockville Rotary Youth Recreation Fund which enables Rockville youth to participate in fee-paid recreation programs.

The race is presented by the Rockville Rotary Club, hosted by the City of Rockville Department of Recreation and Parks, and conducted by the Montgomery County Road Runners Club.
