The Montgomery County Road Runners Club (MCRRC) annual half marathon takes place on Sunday, July 24, 2005, 7 a.m. at Riley' s Lock on the C&O Canal in Poolesville, Maryland. Those training for a fall marathon, this run through the rolling hills of Poolesville will allow you to test your level of fitness and admire the beauty of upper Montgomery County.

Online registration for non-club members is available thru July 21, 2005, at www.mcrrc.org listed under club race schedule. Registration will also be available on race day beginning at 5:30 a.m. Due to the large number of participants in this event, runners are advised to arrive early. The race is free to club members.

To get there from I-495, take the River Road west exit. Continue for several miles until River Road turns left at Seneca Road (There's a stop sign). Turn left, then proceed a few hundred yards until Riley's Lock Road on your left (13015 Riley's Lock Road, Poolesville, MD). Please allow 45 minutes travel time from I-495 to the race site. The half marathon is a low-key race and part of the MCRRC Championship Series.
