Stone Bridge HS Wins High School Team Registration Challenge
Congratulations to Stone Bridge High School from Ashburn, which won the High School Team Registration Challenge and will receive team gear for the next school year. Stone Bridge had 23 runners affiliated with the school (runners did not need to be members of the high school team - rather, the team was challenged to recruit participants to run the race -- family, friends, parents' colleagues, etc.)

Stone Bridge narrowly defeated Heritage High School in Leesburg. Osbourne Park High School in Manassas was third. These teams, as well as others who participated in the HS Challenge, will be eligible to nominate an athlete to receive a scholarship during the HS Scholarship process for the 2006-2007 school year.

(In addition to benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program, the race was created to raise funds for a HS Scholarship Fund for deserving athletes who exhibit leadership, sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic, not just strong race results.)

T-Shirts Available at Potomac River Running Ashburn for Registrants Who Did Not Pick Up Packets on Race Day or at the Post-Race Event
Most entrants received their Dri-Release race shirts. However, if you registered but did not pick up your packet at the pre- race packet pick-up or on race day, please feel free to drop by the Ashburn store to claim your shirt.

Shirts will be available through July. Thanks again to all registrants, sponsors, and volunteers. We hope to see you next year -- rain or shine -- but ideally a little less rain....
