Team Du2R at Nationals and Worlds

Qualifying for 2005 World Duathlon Championships in Newcastle, Australia

Duathlon dozen
June 12, 2005 eleven members of team Du2R competed in the 2005 National Duathlon Championships in Mason, Ohio. The team fared extremely well.

The results for the 10K, 40K, 5K race are as follows:


Ken Fowler 2:01:11 11th overall, 3rd AG
Greg Sabo 2:03:28 22nd overall, 3rd AG
Doug Mock 2:04:30 30th overall, 6th AG
Trey Cassidy 2:09:30 53rd overall, 13th AG
Trevor Orthmann 2:14:10 87th overall, 21st AG
Jeff Timm 2:16:54 112th overall, 6th AG
Beth Burchill 2:17:24 115th overall, 2nd AG
Adam Forgione 2:20:27 137th overall, 12th AG
Lee Wilk 2:23:39 158th overall, 29th AG
Jan Tripp 2:25:49 170th overall, 2nd AG
Judi Carbary 2:47:12 237th overall, 3rd AG


In addition, on the same day, one team member raced in Pittsburgh at the National Senior Olympics Triathlon. John Elliott won the 65 - 69 age group and placed 9th overall.

At this time there are currently 12 members of team Du2R who have qualified for the 2005 World Duathlon Championships in Newcastle, Australia.

USA Triathlon
USA Triathlon owns and produces the USAT National Age Group Championships. Requests for bids are sent out to all Convention and Visitors Bureau's and Sports Commissions in the United States. A special selection committee is responsible for the selection of the National Age Group Championships. All other National Championships are bid on and selected by the National Championship Selection Committee. In 2005, USAT will also own and produce the Duathlon Short Course National Championship. There are 12 USAT National Championships each year. Athletes can compete at the following:
