It's become summer's most highly anticipated event and this year we're celebrating our 20th Anniversary. The Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest 8K will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2005. It all takes place in Rockville Town Center with the Twilight Run Festival beginning at 7:00 PM featuring live musical entertainment, dancing and food for everyone. And at day's twilight, the 8K race and wheelchair race will begin. The event attracts talented runners from the tri-state area and beyond and spectators will have a front row seat watching them compete. The 8K USATF certified course takes you through Rockville neighborhoods and around the Montgomery College campus. The 1K Fun Run starts immediately after the 8K and is a short out and back with both races finishing under the balloon arch and lights. Runners are reminded that it is typically hot and humid during this event and you should be properly trained for these conditions.

Awards will be given to the first five open male and female, top three masters, top three wheelchair finishers and top three male and female in age groups. All runners are eligible for random awards at the post-race festival.

Packet pick-up and late registration will be held Saturday, July 16, at the following locations and times: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at RnJ Sports, 11910-R Parklawn Drive, Rockville; or 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 110 North Washington Street in Rockville Town Center. Please note that packet pick-up is only on race day.

The Twilight Runfest is presented by the Rockville Rotary Club and hosted by the City of Rockville Department of Recreation and Parks. The race is conducted by the Montgomery County Road Runners Club Inc. Race proceeds will benefit the Rockville Rotary Recreation Fund and charitable organizations supported by the Foundation of the Rotary Club of Rockville.
