Washington RunHers Offers
Beginning Fitness Program for Women

From the official press release
March 19, 2003
Annandale, VA
For the Washington Running Report

The Washington RunHers Unlimited is a women's running club serving the metropolitan area. The club offers a 12-week walking and running program entitled "Beginning Fitness Program" for women of all ages and abilities wishing to start a fitness routine.

The program runs from April 12 through July 12, 2003, and will meet on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m. for an hour and a half at Wakefield Recreation Center in Annandale, Virginia. This program will guide the participants from a walk-run beginning to a 40 minute nonstop run. The goal is for all who finish the program to be able to complete a major 5K (3.1 miles) race in the D.C. metropolitan area.

The program will cover finding the right shoes, injury prevention, cross-training, safety, proper techniques, and more. The Beginning Fitness Program costs $47.00, which includes membership to the Washington RunHers. If you are a member of the Washington RunHers Unlimited, the cost is $30.00.

For more information or to register, go to the Washington RunHers web site or call Carla Gregor at (703) 313-0652.
