Call for Volunteers for St. Patrick's Day 10K
By Kathy Freedman March 9, 2004 Washington, DC For the Washington Running Report
The St. Patrick's Day 10K, benefitting the Special Olympics DC,
needs additional volunteers for Sunday's race. If you are unable
to run, please consider volunteering for this festive event. All
volunteers will receive a race t-shirt, refreshments, and will
receive a complimentary entry into the Capital Running Company
Veterans Day 10K (November 7).If you are able to work on Sunday, March 14, from 7:00 am to
11:00 am, please send an e-mail message with your name, address,
phone number, and e-mail address to
Capital Running
Company. You will be contacted with your assignment. If you
decide late in the week to volunteer, don't send an e-mail
message, as no one will be in the office Friday through Sunday.
Just show up at Freedom Plaza, and we'll put you to work! Volunteers are asked to report to the Volunteer Check-In table
on Freedom Plaza between 7:00 and 7:30 am. Freedom Plaza is
located on Pennsylvania Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets,
NW, Washington, DC. Metro does not open until 7:00 am on Sundays
and is not an option for race volunteers; however, there is
plenty of parking available on surrounding streets. The St. Patrick's Day 10K is Washington, DC's largest 10K,
and kicks off the spring racing season. For more information on
the race, see the
race Web site.
