The 21st Annual Army Ten-Miler opens registration to runners on Friday, April 1, 2005. 20,000 runners from around the world are expected for this year's race on Sunday, October 2 in Washington, DC and Race Director Jim Vandak promises another 10-mile race steeped in the Army's tradition of excellence. The G-O command is announced at 8:00 am and the race starts and finishes at the Pentagon; the course takes participants past national treasures including the Lincoln Memorial and the Capitol in Washington, D.C. and over the Potomac River.

The Army Ten Miler usually sells out despite its large size. "We expect to reach our 20,000 cap in July or August again this year so I urge runners and teams to register early," advises Vandak. The early entry fee is $35. After July 31st, the entry fee increase to $40.

This year the race will allow runners to transfer their entry to another person. There will be a $15 transfer fee and the deadline for entry transfers is August 15th. For additional race information and secure online entry individuals should visit www.armytenmiler.com.

The Army Ten-Miler is America's largest 10-mile race and is annually produced by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington. Proceeds from the Army Ten-Miler race go to support soldier Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs. HOOAH!
