Friday, April 1, 2005. 20,000 runners from around the world
are expected for this year's race on Sunday, October 2
in
Washington, DC and Race Director Jim Vandak promises another
10-mile race steeped in the Army's tradition of excellence.
The G-O command is announced at 8:00 am and the race starts and
finishes at the Pentagon; the course takes participants past
national treasures including the Lincoln Memorial and the
Capitol in Washington, D.C. and over the Potomac River.
The Army Ten Miler usually sells out despite its large
size. "We expect to reach our 20,000 cap in July or August
again this year so I urge runners and teams to register early,"
advises Vandak. The early entry fee is $35. After July 31st,
the entry fee increase to $40.
This year the race will allow runners to transfer their entry
to another person. There will be a $15 transfer fee and the
deadline for entry transfers is August 15th. For additional

The Army Ten-Miler is America's largest 10-mile race and is
annually produced by the U.S. Army Military District of
Washington. Proceeds from the Army Ten-Miler race go to support
soldier Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs.
