Runners line up for the 2007 start of the 10K.
The Hebrew Home of Greater Washington and Jewish Foundation for
Group Homes are pleased to announce the fourth annual Home Run
race will be Sunday morning, September 28, 2008. The race
benefits
the elderly residents of the Hebrew Home and also benefits
adults with developmental disabilities and chronic mental
illness who are residents of the Jewish Foundation for Group
Homes. Exciting changes await race participants this year. Building on
the success of last year's changes, the course will now start
and end at Federal Plaza on East Jefferson Street where the
post-race party will feature more food and beverages, awards,
and a wider variety of children's activities. This year's race
will have a new fun run route and once again will include Under
Armour t-shirts for all race participants. Bigger cash prizes
are being awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female
finishers in the 10K and 1st place male and female masters
finishers. Online registration will begin in mid March and more
information is available at www.hebrew-home.org. Home Runners can choose between a 10K race or walk, 5K race or
walk, or a fun run. The 10K out-and-back course travels along
Montrose Road to Tower Oaks and is USATF certified. The 5K
course follows the same route. The fun run is open to runners
of all ages and abilities and all fun run participants will
receive a finisher's medal. Race day registration begins at 7:00 a.m. at Federal Plaza. The
10K starts at 8:30 a.m., the 5K at 8:45 a.m., and the fun run
at 8:55 a.m. Jog strollers are welcome to participate in the
fun run. An after-race celebration includes food, beverages,
entertainment, prizes, and an awards ceremony. Individuals can register online at
www.hebrew-home.org for $20 until
September 8, 2008, $25 after September 8, and onsite for $30 on
