Lace up your shoes and get ready to run as ZOOMA Women's Race Series announces the start of their 12-week training program leading up to the ZOOMA Annapolis Half Marathon & 10K on June 1, 2008. ZOOMA Women's Race Series, a new national series of women's running events, is offering free group training runs beginning March 15, 2008 at two locations in the D.C. metro area to help runners get fit for the inaugural series event.

"We are excited to offer multiple group training opportunities for ZOOMA runners in the DC area," said Brae Blackley, Executive Director of ZOOMA Women's Race Series. "We see these runs as a great opportunity for ZOOMA runners of all skill levels to connect and motivate one another to accomplish their fitness goals."

Training groups will meet on Saturday mornings at Fleet Feet Annapolis and Pacers' new Fairfax location. Water support will be provided and experienced runners will be on hand to answer questions. No registration is necessary to participate in weekend training runs.

ZOOMA Trainer is a personalized coaching and group training Web site offered free to all ZOOMA runners. Users can find or form training groups in their area, ask confidential questions of a certified coach, and take advantage of tips and advice on the blog and downloads page. The ZOOMA Trainer training log and personal calendar allow runners to store and track their personal workout histories. Runners can also download and print a personalized training program. To accommodate runners of different fitness levels, ZOOMA offers several programs, including programs for half marathon running, half marathon run/walk, 10K running, and 10K run/walk.

Runners who still have not registered for ZOOMA Annapolis can continue to register online at www.zoomarun.com. Enter the promotional code TRAININGT08 by March 16 and receive a free ZOOMA training t-shirt!
