Have you ever been driving, talking on the phone, or typing at your computer when you suddenly realize that your shoulders are tight and your lower back hurts? Most of us have experienced this--maybe more often than we'd like. With a little bit of awareness and practice, however, these ailments can be relieved with stretching.

Think you already know how to stretch? There are very specific "Do's and Don'ts" for effective stretching, so join us at this interactive meeting to learn the best methods and perfect your technique.

In her career as both a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor, Mrs. Nordvall has trained sport specific athletes for running, climbing, swimming, and lifestyle wellness. Mrs. Nordvall trains and teaches at the FDIC in Washington, DC. Additional hobbies include running (currently training for NYC Marathon), climbing, sailing, Pilates, and any other outdoor activity.

Washington RunHers 2003 Track Program
The Washington RunHers Track Program kicks off its 2003 season on Tuesday, May 6, at the Washington & Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia.

The five-month, coached track program is designed for female runners of all abilities who are already running regularly who want to improve their running form, speed, and fitness. Participants will be divided into small groups of similar running ability and given workouts to match their skill level. The workouts increase in distance and intensity as the season progresses. The program costs just $100 and offers an affordable alternative to women who want to run faster but have not been able to reach their goals on their own.

Questions may be directed to the Track Program Coordinator, Elizabeth Ottaway, at (703) 379-7874 or via e-mail.
