Join the Terp Runners for the First Road Mile
From the official press release
May 3, 2004
College Park, MD
For the Washington Running Report

Leave the running shoes at home and break out the racing flats and test your speed. The 1st Annual Terp Runners Road Mile (TRRM) will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2004, 9:30 a.m., on the campus of the University of Maryland.

The fast course will start at Stamp Student Union, Shipley Field and the famous Cole Field House; the course circles Byrd Stadium, travels Stadium Drive and finishes in front of the Comcast Center. The TRRM is sponsored by the University of Maryland Running Club, Terp Runners.

Make your plans NOW for some "Road Justice;" join the Terp Runners on May 8th! The registration fee is $5 to all and on-line registration is available at http://www.terprunners.com. In-person registration on race day starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8th.

This event offers an opportunity for club members and friends to get together for some friendly competition. You can run at whatever pace you are comfortable, and you will find others to push you. It's a short distance and no need to hold back, pure excitement! How bad do you want to find out how fast you are? The thrill, getting off to a good start and getting up to your optimum speed and then holding on and staying focused.

There are records to be set; what names will go down in the books for the first year? The event is open to runners of all ages and abilities. If you think you know where you are in your training come out and get it validated. There will be awards presented to the top five overall males and females and the top masters.

For more information, visit the website http://www.terprunners.com or e-mail the race director Erick Westlund at erik@terprunners.com.
