The RRCA Executive Director, Becky Lambros, has announced she will end her tenure soon after this year's annual meeting (May 12-15) in New Orleans, LA.

Since early 2004 when Lambros joined the RRCA, she was integrally involved with the merger with AARC, secured significant sponsorship, including adding new RRCA sponsors Dermik and Michelob Ultra, aided in moving the RRCA from the red to the black financially, raised RRCA visibility and continued the awarding of Roads Scholarships (five athletes in 2005). "While it was a challenge, I feel during my time with the RRCA, I was able to aid in restoring the stature and stability of the RRCA and as I hand over the reins, it is now poised to move to the next level," said Lambros.

"Becky's stewardship and efforts during a critical period in the RRCA's history will always be appreciated and remembered," said RRCA President Bee Andrews.

RRCA Board Member Lisa Paige has been appointed to head a committee that is conducting a national search. The RRCA expects to have a new Executive Director in place by late summer. Interested applicants may contact Paige via e-mail or (303) 829-0242.

"Thanks to the great financial strides we have made and the RRCA/AARC merger, members can rest assured the RRCA administrative apparatus will operate smoothly through the transition," said Andrews.

The Road Runners Club of America is a non-profit organization of over 670 running clubs and 160,000 members across the United States. The RRCA chapters organize races, have training runs, provide safety guidelines, promote childrens and masters fitness running programs, and have social programs.
