"The first mile was pretty slow (5:10)...then over the next mile Wilson Komen , Mikhail Khbotov, and myself separated ourselves from the rest of the field after running 4:52 for the second mile...it wasn't long after that I let the two of them pull away from me a bit...before I knew it they had 5 seconds on me....then at the 5K turn-around Wilson took off...he dropped Mikhail and made it look easy....Mikhail and I stayed the same distance apart for the rest of the race....from the turn-around to the finish I pretty much just wanted to maintain my position. The conditions were pretty extreme...I definitely didn't want to get too carried away over the second half of the race....I tend to overheat easily in those conditions" stated David Berdan of York PA, (3rd - 31:25).
