Reebok to Sponsor Inaugural Run for the Schools in Falls Church City

Falls Church, VA
For the Washington Running Report

George Mason High School alums, members of the community and supporters of the Falls Church Education Foundation will participate in the inaugural Run for the Schools on Saturday, June 17, beginning at 7:30 am. The course will wind through the streets of Falls Church City connecting all four schools which serve the City. This year's event is designed to serve as the foundation for what will eventually become an official, TAC-certified running event.

The two-mile fun run and walk will begin at Mt. Daniel Elementary School and finish at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School/George Mason High School. After completing the race, runners and walkers will tour the newly constructed Middle School. Participants will receive a race packet including an event T-shirt and are eligible to win prizes donated by Reebok and area merchants.

"This event will provide a fun way for alums to see the schools they once attended, give back in a very small way to those institutions and reconnect with the community," says Jerry Barrett, retiring School Board member and Chairman of the Run for the Schools.

Registration is $20 per person or $25 for an entire family. To register, or for additional information, visit the Falls Church Education Foundation website at www.fcedf.org or call Executive Director Donna Englander at (703) 538-3381.
