For the Washington Running Report

Pacers and Puma have teamed up to host the Last Man Standing 10K Half-Time Exhibition at the TC Williams High School Invitational this Saturday, May 5 at 12:30 pm. Pacers is looking for a few brave souls willing to compete in this complimentary event.

Here's how the competition works: 26 runners will start. Every lap, the guy in last place gets pulled off the track. The field of runners will get smaller and smaller, every lap. There will only be one person left on the track. He will be the last man standing.

Prize money for the event includes: $600- first place $400- second place $200- third place

Lap leaders at lap 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 24 will receive $50.

More than 1,000 screaming high school athletes will be at the invitation, each with a chance to win depending on how his/her randomly selected 10K runner finishes. Win the race; win free shoes for all the kids holding your ticket. Other prizes, including track spikes, shirts, bags, and accessories will be distributed based on each kid's athlete placing. Now is your chance to be more popular than Justin Timberlake!

A few slots are still available; individuals seeking entry should e-mail Chris Farley or call 703-568-3630 for details and to register. Entry is complimentary but selective; runners will need to supply their personal best 10K time as well as a recent 10K finish time. Please note that the TC Williams Invitational is held at West Potomac High School due to track construction.
