On Saturday, May 17 at 8:00 am, the Global Running Club (GRC) will present the Run To End Domestic Violence 5K. The race will be held in Fort Washington Park in Maryland.The fort is across the Potomac River from Mount Vernon and was built to protect Washington, D.C. The construction started in 1814 to replace an 1809 fort, which had been destroyed during the War of 1912. The fort was operational from 1808 to 1922.
Each participant will receive a commemorative race t-shirt. Awards will be presented to the top overall and age group winners. There will be food and refreshments served after the race.
The proceeds from the race will benefit the Prince George's Domestic Violence Unit. The Honorary Chairman for 2008 is Delegate Jay Walker, Maryland House of Delegates.

Packet Pick-up will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 6:30 to 7:30 am.
Directions: From I-95/495 take exit 3, Indian Head Highway South/MD 210. Travel about 4 miles to Fort Washington Road, then turn right. The park is located at the end of the road.
