The last stop of the Ten-Miler Triple series was held on Sunday, October 24, 2004 with the 20th Annual Army Ten-Miler, which started and finished at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

The Ten-Miler Triple recognizes the performances of top local finishers (open and masters categories) by awarding complimentary entries into the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run, Annapolis 10 Mile Run and the Army Ten Miler. The races are cornerstones of the Washington-area running community.

The first full year of this competition witnessed a variety of weather conditions, wind, heat and rain. The 20th Army Ten- Miler was held under rainy skies with record holders Captain Dan Browne of the Oregon National Guard (1997-47:44), Susan Molloy (56:20), and (masters category) Sargent Sammy Ngatia (2000-48:50), and Martha Merz (59:49) welcomed back. Several other prior year winners participated in weekend festivities, including three-time winner Alisa Harvey.

Browne controlled the men's race wire-to-wire and set a new event record with his winning time of 47:32. Casey Smith of Arlington, VA, took control of the women's race at mile four and won with a time of 57:32 (6th fastest time); Smith also won in 2002 (58:21, the 11th fastest winning time). Laura Freix of Team Pacers of Old Town Alexandria was the first local master finisher this year, finishing 15th with a time of 1:03:21.

Team Pacers collected both local male athlete titles as Edmund Burke of Burtonsville, MD placed tenth with a time of 50:39 (10th place) and Chuck Moeser won the local men's masters race with a time of 56:35 (63rd place). Moeser was the overall master's winner in 1995 (53:29) and 1998 (53:14).
