For the Washington Running Report

The Run:
Bigger and better than ever, the Jolly Fat Man's Run is back! Saturday,December 10th at 8:00 AM, we expect you and 700 other runners/walkers to takethe Capital Crescent Trail from Bethesda toward Georgetown to support the U.S Marine Corps' "Toys for Tots" Foundation. Your donations and proceeds will benefit local area children during the Holiday Season! This is a FUN run/walk, not a race. Ask anyone who has run The Fat Man's. It's a blast!

We'll greet you at the starting line with hot coffee and live entertainment from DC 101's Elliot in the Morning and The Street Team! We sing the National Anthem and get ready for the warm-up led by our Head Sergeant. You'll make your way toward Georgetown, running along the C&O Canal, with our Sergeants providing support and motivation all the way. Turn around at Fletcher's Boathouse and return to the start line in Bethesda.

Immediately proceed to RiRa, Irish Pub & Restaurant on Elm Street for a HOT Irish Breakfast and refreshments! Included with your donation is a very cool long-sleeve shirt.

Listen-Up:
Are you wondering who in the hell is Flounder? And, why are we naming our run in his honor? Because, he is "The Man, The Myth, The Fat Ass" of DC's Rock Station, DC101. Who better to help a fitness company raise some money for kids than a local fat boy! Last year, we challenged Flounder to our annual Jolly Fat Man's Run and no one remembers seeing him cross the finish line. This year, we challenge him again, the entire Street Team and all Morning Show listeners! Tune into DC101 and The Elliot in the Morning Show, weekdays 5:30am-10:00am. Listen-up November 28th- December 9th for interviews with The Sarge, a chance to win a free one-year membership to The Sergeant's Program, giveaways, and more info about the run!

Registration:
For more details and to register, log on to www.sarge.com and link to the Jolly Fat Man's site. To guarantee your event shirt in the size you requested is available on run day, you MUST register by November 30. Spread the word! This event is open to ANYONE, so, grab your family and friends for a great run for a great cause! We promise our run is like no other!

Packet Pick-Up:
Wednesday, December 7th 4:00 to 8:00 PM: RiRa, Irish Pub & Restaurant (4931 Elm Street, Bethesda). Meet us at RiRa for the Fun Before The Run & Get Jolly Before Jolly! We'll have great raffle prizes to give away and RiRa is offering $2 drink and food specials at the bar from 5:00 to 7:00 PM!

If you cannot make it to the early packet pick-up, we will also have a packet pick-up on December 10. Because we like to have FUN without a lot of hassle, your run-bag will be available at RiRa AFTER the run--grab it on your way out the door after you have your breakfast! This way, you just take off for a great run without having to worry about finding a place for your stuff! After the run, RiRa will be offering $3 bloody Mary, mimosa, and Harp lager specials!

Sponsors:
We would like to thank the U.S Marine Corps, DC 101, The Gazette Newspapers, and RiRa Irish Pub & Restaurant for being headline sponsors of this year's run. Also greatly appreciated is the sponsorship by Bethesda Hosting, and Planet Cotton Screenprinted & Embroidered Sportswear.

TEAM SARGE & ONE JOLLY FAT MAN!
