Corrigan Sports Enterprises announced today a new partnership
with the Bermuda International Race Weekend & Bermuda Tourism.
CSE will work to promote the Bermuda Marathon in the United
States.
A key factor in the Bermuda Tourism's decision to enter into
the partnership is that CSE, the owner and operator of the
Under Armour Baltimore
Running Festival, has direct access to the running community in
Mid-Atlantic region, the country's third largest Metropolitan
area in terms of number
of runners, according to a 2005 study by the United States
Track & Field Association.
"We are pleased to help with the Bermuda Marathon. With the
very reasonable rates on airfare from Maryland to Bermuda it
was a natural. Bermuda is also one of the most beautiful places
on earth so it would only make sense for this event to become a
destination type event," said Lee Corrigan, CSE President. "It
is our hope that runners will participate in Bermuda during the
winter and run in Baltimore in the fall."
Due to its central location, Baltimore is major gateway between
the U.S. and Bermuda and, presently, the best airfare rates to
Bermuda can be
found leaving from Marshall Baltimore Washington International
Airport. This fact further enhances the
partnership. "International Race Weekend is very happy to be
partnering with Corrigan Sports Enterprises on this
initiative," stated Anthony Raynor, Chairman of the
International Race Weekend. "We look forward to hosting runners
from the Baltimore area here in Bermuda, January 12-14.
Corrigan Sports Enterprises has a proven track record and we
can only stand to benefit from its history."
