The Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Loudoun Interfaith Relief, will be hosting the 4th Annual Freeze Your Gizzard Cross Country 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run. The race will be held Saturday, November 18, 2006 and will begin at 9:00 am at the Gazebo in the front field of Ida Lee Park. The pre-registration fee is $20.00 for the 5K, $10.00 for the 1 mile, plus 2 cans of food to be brought the day of the event. On-Site registration the day of the event will be open from 7:00 am to 8:30 am and the fee will increase by $5.00. Canned food will be donated to Interfaith Relief's food bank. All ages are welcome.

Pre-registration can be done at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center or download a printable form. There is a online link as well.

Thanksgiving themed food prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place male and female finishers of each age group for the 5K. Aside from the first male and female to cross the finish line, age groups for awards will be 11-18, 19-29, 30-49 and 50 & older.

Registered 5K runners will receive a long sleeve T-shirt and 1 mile runners will receive a race medal. Refreshments for all following the race.
