Washington Running Report

The 2nd annual Acumen Solutions Jingle All the Way 10K will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2006 in West Potomac Park, Washington, DC. The inaugural race drew more than 1,700 runners and more than 2,000 are expected this year.

In the same spirit as previous Jingle Bell Runs, local runners will have the opportunity to participate in a large running event in celebration of the season. Capital Running Company and Acumen Solutions are excited to bring this event to the Nation's Capital again in 2006.

Plans are underway to make it a truly first-class event. Prizes will be awarded ten deep overall and three deep in five-year age groups from 19 and younger tthrough 80 and older. Prizes include a winter apparel item as well as gift certificates donated by race sponsor Potomac River Running stores. All participants will receive a colorful long-sleeve t-shirt and jingle bells for their shoes and be eligible for random prizes. Post-race food and entertainment are also planned.

Pre-race activities include a holiday-themed sing-along and a warm-up by The Sergeant's Program.

The 10K course through West and East Potomac Parks is flat and fast and many runners have set their PRs there.

Above the 2005 race finishes; beloew the race gets underway.

Registration is available on-line until the afternoon of Thursday, December 7. A printable entry form is also available. On-site registration and packet pick-up will be held from 11 am to 3 pm on Friday, December 8 and Saturday, December 9 at the Old Post Office Pavilion, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

Register now if you plan to run; there is no race-day registration.
