The Metropolitan Washington DC Chapter Works to Improve the Lives of 830,000 Area Residents Afflicted with Arthritis
The 20th Annual Jungle Bell 10K & 5K Run & Walk will be held on
Saturday, December 6, 2003, beginning at 9:00 am. Online
registration is open now. Registration prior to November 30

November 30, registration will be $30 for adults and $10 for
children under 12. The starting line for the runs and walk will
be at 13th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW in downtown
Washington, D.C. near Freedom Plaza. To achieve their goal of having more than 5,000 race
participants and raising more than $200,000 to support arthritis
research, the oldest Jingle Bell Run/Walk in the country
is recruiting both competitive and non-competitive runners and
walkers. The Arthritis Foundation encourages both individuals
and teams to register for this fun event. There will be awards
for top finishers in multiple age/gender categories. There will
also be contests for the most festive and imaginative holiday
garb, as well as raffles and other prizes. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the United
States. "Arthritis is a cause that I hold dear to my heart as
my 11 year old daughter has Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, said
Steve Smith, Chairman of the 20th Annual Jingle Bell Fun
Run. "My family and I have participated in the Jingle Bell Run
for over six years. Proceeds from events such as this will
support the Arthritis Foundation's mission to fund vital
research, foster greater awareness of arthritis, assist families
affected by arthritis and bring urgency to the search for a
cure." For more information about the participating in the Jingle Bell
Run/Walk or to register for the event, go to the events page at
