For the Washington Running Report

The Army Ten-Miler is America's largest ten-mile road race and the Army's premier running event. The 20th annual Army Ten-Miler takes place this Sunday, October 24 in Washington, DC at the Pentagon. To celebrate this commemorative race, registration increased to 20,000 runners in 2004. Military and civilian runners come from all across the country and the world to be a part of this traditional event. The Army Ten-Miler is produced by the United States Army Military District of Washington.

The U.S. Army Golden Knights, the world's premier skydiving team, will jump start the 20th Anniversary of the Army Ten-Miler race with an aerial demonstration. Following the skydive, the Golden Knights will be on site to motivate runners and interact with spectators.

The race includes a runners' expo and packet pick-up on Friday and Saturday, October 22-23, at the Marriott Crystal Gateway Hotel, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA.

All runners must go to the race headquarters hotel with photo ID to pick up their packet. Each packet includes bib number, runners' program, GEICO chip strap and other information. Timing chips will be distributed on site. Runners must exit the Packet Pick-Up area to enter the Race Expo and pick up their t-shirt.

When: Friday (10/22) & Saturday (10/23)
Time: 10 AM to 7 PM
Where: Crystal Gateway Marriott - Arlington Ballroom

All runners must show a photo ID to obtain packet(s) and race/bib number. Obtain a friend's packet with a copy of his/her photo ID and race/bib number. Individual and team runners will pick up their packets in the same ballroom. Everyone will be issued a ChampionChip on site.
