Capture the MCM Experience with a Personalized MyMarathon DVD
By Beth Cline October 21, 2005 Quantico, VA For the Washington Running Report
Runners participating in the 30th anniversary Marine Corps
Marathon can commemorate the experience with a personalized
MyMarathonDVD.
Multiple cameras on the course will capture each participant's
greatest moments from the anticipation of the start line, to the
steady charge through the 10K, from the burst of energy at the
half marathon mark to the look of determination at mile 23 and
finally the joy of crossing the finish. The digital video
cameras use data from the timing chips worn by all marathon
participants allowing for precise isolation of a runner's on-
course
highlights.
"Runners can relive all the fun and excitement of their Marine
Corps Marathon race for years to come, whether it is their first
MCM or their 30th," said Rick Nealis, MCM Race Director.
Each runner's individual scenes are edited into a storyline
including the best race highlights, scenic video, monuments,
narration, music and even cheers from the crowd. Personalized
titles display the runners name, race
number, and split times on the screen whenever he or she appears
in the video. Other features include a personal digital finisher
certificate displaying the finisher's official results and
animated course map.
"MyMarathonDVD is a fantastic way for runners to commemorate
their 26.2-mile achievement on one of the most beautiful
marathon courses in the world," said MyMarathonDVD Vice
President Holly Huber. "With our patented high-tech system, we
guarantee runners will see themselves."
DVD's are available for $49.95, and runners, family members or
friends can record a free personal video message to be added to
the DVD at the MCM Runners' Expo on October 28 and 29 at the DC
Armory. Visit www.mymarathondvd.com/mcm.html for a sample
video and order form.
The Marine Corps Marathon continues a combined tradition of
dedication, sportsmanship and patriotism. Since its inception,
over 300,000 civilian and military runners from all walks of
life have participated, deservingly
earning the event its nickname "The People's Marathon." The
30th Marine Corps Marathon will be held on October 30, 2005.
