Registration for the sixth annual Frederick Running Festival
will begin on Thursday, November 1. Interested runners are
instructed to visit www.frederickmarathon.org to become a part
of "A Big Time Race with a Small Town Charm." The running
festival features a marathon, half-marathon, four-person relay,
progressive marathon, 5K and new for this year - a kid's fun
run.
The 2008 Frederick Running Festival will begin on Saturday, May
3 with the Health and Fitness Expo and will conclude on Sunday,
May 4. This year's event will see all races start and finish at
the Frederick Fairgrounds, which will result in a new course.
Last year, an event record 3,200 runners registered for the
event with several of the races coming close to selling out.
This also marks the first opportunity for people to start
registering for the Maryland Double, in which runners can earn
a third medal for finishing either the marathon or half-
marathon at both the Frederick and Baltimore Running Festivals
(Saturday, October 11). In 2007, more than 250 participated in
the Maryland Double program.
