Since Baltimore based apparel company Under Armour signed on as
the title sponsor of the Baltimore Marathon, registration has
increased dramatically. The announcement was made last week on
August 27 and since that time nearly 900 participants have
registered. All runners participating in Under Armour's
Baltimore Marathon and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield
Half-Marathon will receive an Under Armour LooseGear shirt as
part of the registration fee."Under Armour apparel is a great fit for the Baltimore Running
Festival," said Lee Corrigan, principle of Corrigan Sports
Enterprises, the event coordinator. "The news that Under Armour
has signed on as title sponsor and will be providing shirts to
marathoners and half-marathoners has spread throughout the
running community and is fueling the registration increase."
The Baltimore Running Festival takes place Saturday, October 18.
In addition to the marathon and half-marathon, other events
include the Fila 5K, GEICO Team Relay and Kid's Fun Run. All
races are limited and filling quickly--4,000 for the marathon,
3,000 for the half-marathon, 750 teams for the relay and 1,200
for the 5K.
As a result of the Baltimore Running Festival, more than $1
million was raised for charity in the first two years of the
event.
