On September 17, 2000, less than 200 runners gathered for the 1st Annual Paul VI Runfest 5K; five years later, the community based event has grown into a race with international appeal and neighborhood participation.

This Sunday, September 19th, at 8:00 am, runners will be lacing up their racing flats at Paul VI High School--the race starts at 8:00 am. The event offers $4,250 in prize money.

Packet pick-up will be held on Friday, 4:00 - 8:00 pm, September 17th at Metro Run & Walk, 7516 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA (703-790-3338).

Late registration will be held on Saturday, 12:00 - 6:00 pm, September 18th at Paul VI Catholic High School, 10675 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA (703-352-0925).
The fee is $20 for adults and $10 for students (12th grade and younger).

Pasta Dinner will be provided by Ruby Tuesday on Saturday, 6:00- 8:00pm at Paul VI High School. The cost is $10 with prizes, raffles and a guest speaker.

Directions: Take the Beltway to I-66 West; exit Route 123 South; turn right on Lee Highway; left at Paul VI High School on Oak Street. Parking is free.

The top 5 male and female overall will receive cash awards; there is a bonus for an event record. The top 5 male and female masters athletes will also receive cash awards. The top three finishers in 5-year age groups will receive awards; first place will receive a Nike accessory. All registered runners receive a T-shirt.
