Michelle McGleish of Germantown, MD Qualifies for 2005 ITU Duathlon Long Course Championship in Italy
On August 22nd, Michele McGleish raced in the Long Course National Duathlon Championships in Caesar Creek, Ohio. The race consisted of a 5.5 mile run on asphalt and trails, a 56 mile bike ride with over 1800 feet of climbing, and a 13.1 run. Despite the heat, McGleish finished 3rd in her Age Group of Females 35-39, 10th Woman overall and finished in the top 43% in the Nation overall of Men and Women. Her finish qualified her for the 2005 United States Duathlon Team for the Long Course World Duathlon Championships, to be held in Barcis, Italy in May of 2005.


The Mid-Atlantic Regional Duathlon Championship was held on August 29, 2004 in New Jersey in conjunction with the Lighter-Than-Air Duathlon. Several local residents (MD, DC, & VA) earned Age Group Awards.
