The PACE Race 5K Returns To Pennsylvania Avenue On October 30
National Series of 19 Races to Raise Awareness of Prostate Cancer

The Second Annual PACE Race 5K Run/Walk
The 2004 Washington, D.C. PACE Race 5K will be held Saturday,
October 30, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue NW between
11th and 12th Streets NW in downtown Washington. The event
consists of a 5K run and walk; proceeds will be used to raise
awareness and fight prostate cancer."It's an honor for Washington, D.C. to be chosen again for this
worthy cause," said Rick Freedman, the Washington, D.C. PACE 5K
Race Director. "With the support of local businesses and the
community we are confident that our second year will be a great
success." The PACE Race Series mission is to ultimately eliminate prostate
cancer by raising awareness and financial support for national
research and local screening and treatment. Other race locations
in the East include New York City and Hartford, CT. For a

experience that will be directing the District of Columbia PACE
Race 5K," said Mandy Deas, Director of Awareness Programs for
the Prostate Cancer Education Council. Pre-race entry fees are $22 for adults and $12 for children 18
and under. Race day fees will be $27 for adults and $17 for
children. Registration is available online at www.runwashington.com. Awards will be presented to the top three overall men and women
from both the 5K run and walk, as well as the top three men and
women in the following PACE 5K Run age groups: 20-29, 30-39, 40-
49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over. The PACE Race 5K will be held on October 30 on Pennsylvania
Avenue NW between 11th and 12th Streets NW at 9:00 a.m. The
Washington, D.C. PACE Race 5K is presented locally by the
Department of Urology at Georgetown University Hospital. For
