Race looks to sell out for second straight year

Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) announced today that only 200 spots remain open for the 2005 CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Half-Marathon at the Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival. This would mark the second straight year that the event has sold out and it comes after event organizers increased participation by 500 from a year ago.

Total registration for Maryland 's premier fall event is up 30 percent and the United Way 5K has seen double the entrants compared to this point last year.

The 2005 Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival, which consists of the Under Armour Baltimore Marathon, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Half-Marathon, United Way 5K, Legg Mason Funds Team Relay and Believe Kids' Fun Run, will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2005 at M&T Bank Stadium. The event, now in its fifth year, has generated over 41 million dollars in revenue for the city and over 2.1 million dollars for local charities.

The Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival is produced by Corrigan Sports Enterprises, a leader in sports promotions in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. region. Founded in 1991, CSE owns and operates the following events: Under Armour Baltimore Marathon, The Charm City Challenge All-Star Basketball Game, The Capital Classic, the Toyota Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, the Scion Trash & Jam (Extreme Sports) and the annual BikeJam event.

Registration for the event can be done online at www.thebaltimoremarathon.com or by visiting any running store in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area. Online registration will close before the event is sold out. For more information call 410-605-9381.
