Hebrew Home of Greater Washington and Jewish Foundation for
Group Homes Announce Exciting Changes for Third Annual Home Run
The Hebrew Home of Greater Washington and Jewish Foundation for
Group Homes are pleased to announce the third annual Home Run
race will be Sunday morning, September 30. The race benefits
the elderly residents of the Hebrew Home and also benefits
adults with developmental disabilities and chronic mental
illness who are residents of the Jewish Foundation for Group
Homes. Exciting changes await race participants this year. For the
first time, the popular course will end at Federal Plaza on
East Jefferson Street where the post-race party will feature
more food and beverages, awards, and a wider variety of
children's activities. This year's race will have a new fun run
route and Under Armour T-shirts for all race participants.
Bigger cash prizes are being awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
male and female finishers and 1st place male and female masters
finishers in the 10K. Home Runners can choose between a 10K race or walk, 5K race or
walk, or a fun run. The 10K out-and-back course travels
through residential areas of Rockville and is USATF certified.
The 5K course follows the same route. The fun run is open to
runners of all ages and abilities and all fun run participants
will receive a finisher's medal. Race day registration begins at 7:00 a.m. at the Hebrew Home.
The 10K starts at 8:30 a.m., the 5K at 8:45 a.m., and the fun
run at 8:55 a.m. Jog strollers are welcome to participate in
the fun run. An after-race celebration includes food,
beverages, entertainment, prizes, and an awards ceremony. For more information or to register online go to www.hebrew-
home.org for $20 or onsite for $25 on race day. All
proceeds benefit residents of the Hebrew Home of Greater
Washington and the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes. Both
organizations thank Harvey Goodman, President of Goodman-Gable-
Gould/Adjusters International, who chairs the event.
