Top photo: Julia Feldmeier, 23 of Washington, ran 25:06 for Team
Washingtonian. The magazine published a feature article on the
race in their May issue.

performance
by Ellicott City, MD resident Michael Shepherd (#2062), age 27.

event celebrating brain tumor survivors. Phil's Pack team
members walk toward the finish.
Second photo: 11-year-old Tessa Scheckelhoff (#3084) of Laurel,
MD showed remarkable talent and finished a step after Suzette
Hurely (#914), 26 of Arlington in 24:39.
Third photo: Cathy Fawell of Cassidy & Pinkard, the title
sponsor company since 2000. Pat Cassidy was diagnosed with a
brain tumor in 2000 and lost his battle to cancer in 2001;
business partner and friend Robert Pinkard continues the
company's involvement to add to successful fundraising for
research projects. "Together we can prove there is hope - and
find a cure for brain tumors. "

First photo: Children ran to their hearts' delight in a short
dash on Pennsylvania Avenue. Everyone received a finishers medal
for this fun romp.
Middle photo: The 13th woman to finish the course, Holly Shick
(#2715), 28 of Washington, completed the 5K with Bruce Becker,
42 of Chevy Chase, MD in 22:43. A good workout!
Bottom photo: Brain tumor survivors were recognized with a baby
blue cap and t-shirt. Cancer patients past and present
participated when feasible. Blue-capped Charles Romeo (#2900),
46 of Derwood, MD stayed the course to finish in 25:40; a few
steps ahead, Renata Carvalho (#3336), 49, completed her run in
25:36.

springs to the finish in 22:30.
Middle photo: Kenny Fahey (green & blue), 18 of McLean, VA and
Binayak Mishra (red & white), 18 of Washington, matched each
other down the final yards and finished in 22:10. A good run
for both men!
Bottom photo: Leah Niepold (#1967), 29 of Olney, MD placed as
16th woman with her 23:01 for the 5K (3.1 miles) course.
