1. Classic battle of the sexes: Rebecca Nathan (40) of Rosslyn, VA edges Thomas Kornfeld (52) of Annapolis, MD. Nathan was a chip winner 3rd age group while Kornfeld was 7th in his division.


2. Timothy Reboulet of Alexandria, VA was one of two runners who out muscled Chuck Moeser from a top ten finish. Reboulet was 11th in 58:27.


3. Ron Schecter of Baltimore, MD pumps his way to the finish.

1. It is a bit of an upset that John Kirkpatrick of Annapolis, MD (#2440) was second in the 60-64 division. Not so, for catching Michele Hoffman of Baltimore, MD, 16th women and Mike Schwartz of Phoenix, MD (#4097) who tired after punching his way through the humid morning air.


2. With runners crossing the line more than one a second, hometown lad Michael Shearer in green leads the way.


3. Race Director of the Germantown 5-Miler Danny Talmadge runs a fine race. The bright green shorts of Ron Black don't match his grim look as the hills of Annapolis have another "off' day victim.
