Middle photo: This year's weather provided a pleasant setting for an early morning run. Bradley Smith, 28, followed by Jeff Lifur, 34, both of Arlington, VA finished in the top 5% with 38:04 for a finishing time.

Third photo: Super-fit Patti Shull continues to be one of the fastest women in the Washington area at age 45! The Ashburn, VA resident finished fourth among women with 37:56. Thomas Ketchem, 26 of Fredericksburg, VA, finished four seconds later.

Middle photo: Over two thousand runners finished the 10K run this year! There were 50 large legal firm teams, 16 small legal firm teams, 11 corporate and 10 government teams. Physical fitness and the law make a winning combination.

Third photo: Nathan Flores of Quantico, VA lead the Marines to first place in the government team category and also claimed third place in the individual competition by running 31:40 (5:06/mile pace). The few, the proud, the U.S. Marines!

First photo: Maria Kozloski, 39 of Washington, DC, won her age group (30-39) in 39:57, then dashed off to get a family birthday party ready. Jeffrey Sherman, 34 and a lawyer with the Skadden Arps team, completed the course a few ticks later.

Middle photo: The start of the run with Matthew (#812) and Anne (#461) Finnan of New Jersey. They ran with the Edell, Shapiro & Finnan team (small firm) and were 2 of 11 finishers from the Garden State.

Third photo: This year the course took runners onto the Whitehurst Freeway and over to Canal Road. The climb up in the first mile was rewarded with an easier run in the final mile. Post-race festivities were held at Washington Harbor, 3000 K Street NW.

Bottom photo: An encore performance by Philippe Rolly! Rolly added another title to his victories in 1999, 2000 and 2001. He runs with the West Chester Track Club in New York state and clocked 31:23 this year, five seconds ahead of Erik Kean of Arlington.
