- HayleyTullet of Great Britain took the lead early and cruised in to win the elite women's mile in 4:27.28.
- Start of the boys mile.
- In the elite men's mile, Kenyan Elkanah Angwenyi (4:02.73) outleaned Anthony Whiteman (4:02.78) and defending champ James Thie (4:02.89), both of Great Britain. Just .16 seconds separated the top three.

- Josh McDougal of Peru, New York won the prestigious New York Road Runners Record Challenge 2-Mile. He finished in a personal best 8:50.4, seventh on the all-time high school indoor list and tied with Rockford, Michigan's Dathan Ritzenhein, now an NCAA champion at the University of Colorado.
- The girls mile came down to a very close finish.
- The joy of the sport is evident in the faces of the winners of the girls mile, as they pose with their trophies and Olympic legend Billy Mills (left) and Jim Beatty (right).
